Reading a certificate
What each test tells you.
Tests and acceptance criteria vary by material and lot. Read each certificate for the methods, measured results and laboratory details.
- HPLC
Purity
HPLC reports chromatographic purity under the method and conditions stated in the lot report. Review that report for the measured result and acceptance criteria; purity alone does not establish identity, sterility or suitability for any use.
- LC-MS
Identity
LC-MS provides analytical evidence of molecular identity. Consult the lot report for the method, measured mass and laboratory conclusion.
- Gravimetric
Net content
The amount of peptide actually in the vial, measured against the amount printed on the label.
- Visual
Appearance
The powder or liquid is checked for color, uniformity and integrity, and the tested vial is photographed for the certificate.

What is a certificate of analysis?
A report from an independent laboratory on one production lot: its purity, its identity and how it looked when tested, with the date and the lot number.
Who does the testing?
Independent US laboratories with no stake in our products. Nothing is tested in-house.
What happens if a batch fails?
A lot that fails its applicable release criteria is not eligible for shipment. Review the lot-specific report for the tests performed and acceptance criteria.
Why are there archived certificates?
Vials from an earlier lot may still be in your lab. Every lot stays in the library, so any vial can be checked against its own results.
Can I get the certificate for my order?
Search the lot number on your label, or email us with your order number and we will send the certificate for every lot in it.
